About Me

Name: Johanna
Home: Sacramento, California, United States
About Me: I am a girl; I don't quite know where I came from or where I'm going. Though I'm still getting comfortable in my own skin, I love to think about a world more simple than the one I reside in now. I like to imagine a magical place with elegant gowns, tea time every hour, true friendship, etiquette, and art. Don't let the busy reality of the world take you over. Hold onto your innocence.

Thrift Treasures + Daily Coordinate
Hello!
Today we were going down the hill to peek in on a play practice that some of our friends were in. So of course, I decided to dress up.
And after I decided to go to the thrift store to look for play pearls and a cardigan [because I needed one badly].
I was cleaning my room earlier and I realized I needed some more cute, girly, 'sweet loli' decor for my room. So instead of buying the pearls to wear, I decided to get this cute carousel horse statue- that is also a music box! Well he doesn't open, but he plays some nice song :] It reminds me of the AP Sugary Carnival dress and that I will have it in blue some day.
And I also found a simple pink cardigan that I'll be changing the buttons to. I'll switch these out for pearl buttons. All in all, I'd say it was a pretty productive day. <3

Lolita Meme
COLOURS

What colours can be found in your Lolita closet?
Right now, pink and white. I'd LOVE an aqua blue dress though <3

What is your favourite colour with Lolita?
My favorite color combinations are light pink and light teal/blue. Mint and brown look cute too!

What is your least favourite colour in Lolita?

Lime. AGH!

Which uncommon colour do you want to try out?
I don't see much lavendar, and I'd love to try :>

DESIGN
Are you more a Onepiece, Jumperskirt or a Skirt person?
I love OPs mostly. I used to like Jumperskirts more until I got an OP and they're more comfortable for me. I'm not much of a skirt person at all...I doubt I'll ever have a skirt unless it's a print I REALLY want.

Which cut do you like the best?
I like Square necklines best :>

Print or no Print?
Prints, definitely!! They give such personality.

How does a dress/skirt have to look like that it will be a "must have" item for you?
Bright and cute. Pretty much anything Angelic Pretty LOL. I like looking like an ice cream truck threw up all over me.

STYLES
What is your favourite style in Lolita?
Hime and Sweet. Definitely. The sweeter the better.

Which style do you wear regularly?
Sweet and Hime-esque.

Which style you want to try out?
I'd like to try out the EGL style with a Moi-Meme-Moitie dress. Because Mana is a heeeero.

Which style you never want to try out/wear again?
Not really sure I'd like Wa lolita. If I want to wear a Yukata or Kimono I'll just do that. But the victorian edge on Lolita is something that really draws me to it. So a Yukata with frills doesn't do much for me. I also dont really like Country Lolita. Don't like looking like I'm going to Oz.

BRANDS

Brands yes or no and why?
Brands. Fabric=Love. Prints=Adorable.

Which brand is your favourite?
Angelic Pretty <3 Then BABY.

Which is your least favourite brand?
Probably Metamorphose... A little off the deep end.

Ever had a good/bad experience with brand?
No, Not yet XD

Will this experience encourage/stop you from buying brand?
N/a

OTHER
Did you ever got surprised by a piece of Lolita?
Noope. Not yet? XD

Did you ever got disappointed by a piece of Lolita?
No, not disappointed. The ribbons on my BABY dress at the sleeves keep going undone but thats more of an annoyance XD

Things that you like about Lolita?
It's the best to be dolled up and be girly. Be different. It's cute, it's... amazing. I love it.

Things that you dislike on Lolita?
It's difficult because those in the communities of Lolita seem to be judgemental or expect you to look an exact cetain way XD And a lot of the time I feel like if something's not brand, it's not worth it, which is COMPLETELY not true at all! But thats the pressure I feel from others sometimes.

Do you have a Lolita fashion idol, if 'yes' who is it?
Damare Kozou <3

And Mana.

Does Lolita affect your every day life?
I wish it did.

Do you buy Lolita related things, like cute looking furniture?
I love like charms and stuff. My room isn't at all Lolita, but I want to fill my bed with Sanrio plushies and things like that.

Do you read/buy the Gothic Lolita Bible?
I have two issues. They're pretty nifty. <33

How to you describe your fashion style to others that don´t know about Lolita?
I'd rather show them a picture X_X

Is there something you want to say to your fellow Lolitas?
Lets keep growing and keep on keepin' on! Lolita is such a beautiful thing!

Indie Lolita Brands for YOU!~★ ~
Sometimes when you look for some cute new dresses or skirts, or even just accessories, the only things that come up are the same-old "I know this already" brands. Given, they're wonderful brands, but sometimes you just need to find something completely new, and maybe a little more on budget.

Well, since I'm a very frivolous person, and I have high expectations [I'm VERY idealistic], I've sifted through numerous brands to bring you what I think is...well..."good enough":
Strawberry Chocolate has adorable Gothic, Sweet, and a tinge of Classic Lolita. For about $140, it's amazing. If it was from BABYSSB it would be hiked up at least another $100.
YUki listed themselves as Sweet, but they get a lot of their inspiration from classic, I'm feeling. Their dresses are really cute :> I'm totally an OP person, JSKs second, so when I see collections like this I just squee!!
Endorphins. No one can forget about the basics that one needs: petticoats, + 'drawers'. They have them that seem to be of good quality, and for less amounts of money. I also saw some really nice gothic skirts.
D0ris is a page where you can get items from Doris, Die Falter Fuhret, Victorian Maiden, Fairy Wish, etc.
Fairy Wish. Or you can go to the Fairy Wish site yourself! <3
★Finally, JELLY BEAN is SO CUTE!! GO THERE.

So along with scourging the internet, I've decided to finally move forward and start my own brand :> Haha. It'll be super-Indie. But it'll be awesome. So I started BEAUTIFUL DREAMER. I hope when I start making things, you'll enjoy it! Go and follow that blog, too :]
